Sensei Chambers was raised in Melbourne, Florida and studied Aikido in his childhood. Later, after high school he searched for a karate school where quality was high and costs were low. Seemed like the right combination for a young college student. So after some searching he ended up back where he studied Aikido at the local YMCA where a new instructor had just started a class. Perfect timing for all. Little did he realize it would be the beginning of a lifetime commitment!
Sensei Bob Ostovich was trained by Master Joe Hess. He thrived on sharing his knowledge with us and we were eager to have it. Located below, Sensei Ostovich (June 1986, Melbourne, Florida) is in the left picture and Master Hess (Oct. 30 1983, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) is on the right in the center of the image. For the curious that is Sensei Don Moffett on the left and Sensei Ostovich was on the right.
This was our first real dojo after leaving the YMCA. This was taken February 28, 1981. As far as I know this was the first Martial Arts Supply Center in Brevard County, Florida. Dee Caddell sold lots of supplies at this store and eventually moved to another building down the street when she expanded. Our dojo floor was located right behind the store front. In the picture from left to right is Dee, Rick Digiovanni, Jim Chambers and David Barr. I think I was a green belt about this time. We worked out at the dojo every Saturday for most of the day.

Here are a couple of pictures of the inside of the dojo.

This picture shows Bob Ostovich, Dan Cochran, Angela Boyer, Jim Chambers, Rick Digiovanni and John Delaney.
